Join CREATOR CO-LABS for an engaging discussion on how platforms, audience habits, and technology are shaping film, TV, and content creation, featuring industry leaders from Stan, STUDIOCANAL and The Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO).

MEET THE EXPERTS


Ben Nguyen // Director of Programming - Stan

Ben Nguyen manages Stan’s content strategy, turning audience insights into smart, impactful programming decisions. Since joining in 2021, he has played a key role in shaping the platform’s direction, from content promotion and curation to personalisation and retention, contributing to the success of acclaimed titles such as Hacks, The Substance and From and Stan Originals Poker Face, Black Snow and The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Prior to Stan, Ben spent nearly 13 years at SBS, as a Channel Manager, where he helped transform the broadcaster from a traditional TV network into a multi-platform digital leader. During his time at SBS, he oversaw the local launches of hit shows like The Handmaid’s Tale, Filthy, Rich and Homeless, If You Are The One, and Ninja Warrior, long before its local adaptation. His early career began in documentary and factual acquisitions and included a stint at the Australian Film Commission. With a passion for championing diverse storytelling and an eye for audience trends, Ben brings a unique mix of creative and strategic thinking to the evolving streaming landscape.


Marcus Gillezeau (Jillezo) // Head of Production and Development - STUDIOCANAL

Marcus curates the creative slate at Cultivator Films Australia, the production arm of STUDIOCANAL ANZ focused on standout Australian and New Zealand stories. He is the Executive Producer of Kangaroo, STUDIOCANAL’s first Australian production, and brings over 30 years of experience across drama, documentary, and digital media. He has worked with major broadcasters including ABC, SBS, Discovery, and National Geographic, with award-winning credits such as the International Emmy®-winning Scorched, AACTA-winning Storm Surfers 3D, and acclaimed documentaries like Own The Sky and Motorkite Dreaming. A long-time advocate for innovation in screen storytelling, Marcus is also the author of two industry books and a mentor to emerging producers across Australia.


Patrick Whitnall // Managing Director - Australian Influencer Marketing Council

Patrick Whitnall is driving the future of influencer marketing in Australia by setting industry standards, building training programs, and working with government to keep the space ethical and effective.  With over two decades of experience spanning brand, content, and influencer marketing, he has worked with major brands including L’Oréal, Coca-Cola, Disney, Westpac, and Toyota. Formerly the Managing Director of Publicis Content within Publicis Sports and Entertainment, Whitnall played a key role in developing integrated influencer strategies for some of the world’s most recognisable campaigns. A founding member of AiMCO since its launch in 2019, he brings a balanced perspective from both agency and client sides. Passionate about industry integrity, he is focused on deepening ties with government bodies such as the TGA, ACCC, and AHPRA, while championing best practices around authenticity, disclosure, and child safety. Under his leadership, AiMCO is driving forward initiatives in AI, social commerce, and creator education to support a thriving, ethical influencer marketing ecosystem.

Annemarie Gereis // Personal Development Specialist / VFX Trainer - Annemarie Gereis Consulting / UNSW

Combining her love for creativity and technology, Annemarie has worked on over 20 blockbuster TV shows and films, including 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' 'Gotham,' and 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' across Los Angeles, Atlanta, Sydney, and Austin. She enjoys collaborating with organizations to improve business strategies and creative workflows. Annemarie also provides training in personal development and mentors career changers in visual effects. She is an international speaker, lectures at the University of New South Wales and is the founder of the Creator Co-Labs mixer event for creatives.
